Steps to Undispose Assets (No GL)The Undispose Assets (No GL) option, accessed from within the Process Scanner Data option, updates the disposal status to be current (no longer disposed) for selected assets in the Fixed Asset Inventory module that were determined as not actually disposed during an inventory and do not have any previous entries posted to General Ledger. When the Undispose Assets (No GL) option is selected, all the scanner assets with a Variance Type of Disposed Asset (No GL) display on the Process Scanner Data screen. Once the desired assets are selected from the list, the Undispose Assets (No GL) option changes the Disposed field in the Asset File Maintenance option to be unselected and the Disposal Date and Disposal Type ID fields to be blank.
The assets with disposal status changes and no previous entries posted to General Ledger continue to display when the Undipsose Assets (No GL) option is selected until the disposal status for the assets are updated using the Undispose Assets (No GL) option, or a new scanner file is imported.
Note: If an asset with a Variance Type of Disposed Asset (No GL) was scanned in a different location than what is shown in the Asset File Maintenance option, after completing the Undispose Assets (No GL) option, manually change the location for the asset within the Asset File Maintenance option, or else import the scanner data file again in order to have the system re-assign the Variance Type to Different Location (and then complete the Update Asset Location option).
