Update Asset Location

The Update Asset Location option, accessed from within the Process Scanner Data option, automatically updates the locations for selected assets in the Fixed Asset Inventory module that were determined as having location changes during an inventory.  When the Update Asset Location option is selected, all the scanner assets with a Variance Type of Different Location where the scanned locations are valid display on the Process Scanner Data screen.  Once the desired assets are selected from the list, the Update Asset Location option changes the Site ID, Building ID, and Room ID in the Asset File Maintenance option to be the scanned location (Site ID, Building ID, and Room ID from the imported scanner file).

The assets with location changes from the scanner file continue to display when the Update Asset Location option is selected until the locations for the assets are updated using the Update Asset Location option, or a new scanner file is imported.

Note:  If an asset was scanned with a location that is not valid, the asset location cannot be updated with the Update Asset Location option; the system will only update the asset locations of assets where the scanned Site, Building, and Room IDs are all valid.
