Note: If a custom field is changed, the changes for the field will appear for all assets in the Asset File Maintenance and Add New Assets options.
From the Fixed Asset Inventory screen, select the Maintenance menu and then Custom Fields.
At the Custom Fields screen, select the tab for the type of custom field to change: Referenced Fields or Text Fields.
Enter the name of the custom field to change in the Custom Field Description field, or click the down-arrow button or the Find button to select the correct one.
Make the desired changes to the custom field.
To add a new value for the custom field (for referenced fields only), complete the blank line (indicated with an asterisk) at the bottom of the Referenced Fields List.
To remove a value from the custom field (for referenced fields only), click the Delete button located to the left of the desired value in the Referenced Fields List; when prompted to delete the record, click Yes.
To change the order the custom fields display within the Asset File Maintenance or Add New Assets options, use the Set Screen Preferences option.
Steps to Set Screen Preferences for Custom Fields
After all the changes have been made, click the Save button.
If the description (name) of the custom field was changed, a prompt will appear verifying whether or not to change the description of the custom field. To change the description of the custom field, click the Change button. To not change the description and revert to use the original description, click the Revert to Original button.
