The Reference Files in General Ledger are used to define the account pieces, such as the fund, function, object, and so on, of an account number. Each piece used in an account number must first be defined in the Reference Files before it can be used in an account number in the Chart of Accounts.
The items (account pieces) listed under the Reference Files option vary depending on the designated state-specific reference structure for your database. The Fund File is included as part of the References Files for all organizations (and states).
