Note: Changes made to the approval sequences for an approval path will only be effective for new leave requests submitted after the changes were made; leave requests previously submitted are not changed and will continue to use the approval sequences as originally defined for the approval path, unless the Reassign Leave Request Approvers option is completed.
From the Payroll screen, select the Options menu and then Leave Request Options.
Note: The Leave Request Options option is only available to organizations that have licensed the Web Link module and is only accessible to supervisors.
Click the Leave Approval Paths tab.
Enter the ID of the approval path to change in the Approval Path ID field. If the ID is not known, click the down-arrow button or the Find button to select the correct one.
Make the desired changes to the approval path.
To add a sequence (rule) to the approval path, complete the blank line (indicated with an asterisk) at the bottom of the Approval Path List.
To remove a sequence (rule) from the approval path, click the Delete button located to the left of the desired sequence in the Approval Path List; when prompted to delete the record, click Yes.
To add a user to be able to edit (enter) the substitutes for the leave requests tied to the approval path, complete the blank line (indicated with an asterisk) at the bottom of the Edit Substitutes List.
To remove a user from being able to edit substitutes for the leave requests tied to the approval path, click the Delete button located to the left of the desired record in the Edit Substitutes List; when prompted to delete the line, click Yes.
After all the changes have been made, click the Save button.
If the ID for the approval path was changed, a prompt will appear verifying whether or not to change the ID. To change the ID for the approval path, click the Change button. To not change the ID and revert to use the original ID, click the Revert to Original button.
If changes were made to an existing approval sequence on the approval path (or an existing approval sequence was deleted), a prompt will appear asking to open the Reassign Leave Request Approvals option. If needed, click Yes to open the option in order to change a user who is assigned as an approver on previously submitted leave requests; otherwise, click No to not open the option.
