Courses

Courses are used to define the classes taken by an employee for tracking purposes in Human Resources.  A course must first be defined within the Courses option before it can be entered on the Education screen in the Employee File for an employee.

Within the Courses option, course types are also defined in order to group the courses into categories (for example, General Studies, Business, Mathematics, Science, English, Education, etc.) for sorting and reporting purposes.  In addition to grouping the courses into categories, the course types are used to specify the curriculum area studied by an employee when earning a degree for purposes of tracking the degree in Human Resources (for example, stipulate the Bachelor of Arts degree was in Education, which is a course type).
