Note: The instructions below are for inserting a label on a custom report in the Report Writer module.
On the Edit Report screen, click the Label button, or select the Insert menu and then Label.
Note: If the report to edit is not yet open, first complete the following: from the Report Writer screen, click on the name of the view group in the Report Groups List that contains the report for which to add a label and click on the name of the report to edit in the Reports List (or click the Find button instead to search for the desired report); then click the Edit Record button located at the top of the screen.
Click at the location within the desired section on the report for where to add the label, and drag and drop to the desired size of the label.
The label will appear in the designated section and appear as an object with the text of Label1.
To enter or change the text for the label, either double-click on the label and key the new text over the existing text, or else:
Click the object (label).
Tip: After an object is selected, handles (boxes) will appear around the outside edges of the selected object. To select multiple objects for which to enter or change the label text at the same time, press and hold the Shift or Ctrl key and then select (click) all the desired items, or else click, drag, and drop a box (using your mouse) over all the desired objects. To select all objects within a section, click the title bar for the section and then press the Ctrl+A keys.
With the label selected, click in the Text field under the Data section in the Properties List (located in the lower right corner of the screen) and either key the new text over the existing text, or else click the button (in the Text field) and then at the Text screen, key the desired text and click the Save button.
Resize, format, move, and align the label as needed.
Tip: The following buttons (and corresponding options under the Format menu) are available to format a label: Bold button, Italic button, Underline button, Font Settings button, Align button, Back Color button, Fore Color button, and Border button. Additional properties can be set for a label using the following fields within the Properties List: Vertical Alignment (Top, Middle, or Bottom), Can Grow (True or False), Can Shrink (True or False), and Optional (True or False).
