Note: The following instructions are for use with the Illinois Employment Information System option, which is available for Illinois school districts only, to import the Illinois Educator Identification Number for employees from a file downloaded from the state's website into the appropriate custom field in the Employee File. When completing the Import Employee IEIN option, any information previously entered in the applicable custom field within the Employee File will be overwritten.
From the Payroll screen, select the Government Reporting menu and then Illinois Employment Information System.
At the Illinois Employment Information System screen, click the Report Options tab.
Click the down-arrow button for the IEIN field to select the correct text custom field defined in the Employee File to track the Illinois Educator Identification Number for the employees.
Note: A custom field must be specified for the field in order to import the data. If needed, also complete the Employer RCDTS, Fiscal Year End, Position Start Date, and Position End Date fields in order to save any changes; refer to the Completing the Illinois Employment Information System Option topic in the Help File for instructions on completing those fields if needed.
Select the Options menu and then Import Employee IEIN.
At the File to Import screen, select the correct path (drive and folders) and file name for the file to be imported in the File Name field, and click the Open button.
A message will appear prompting to import the information; click Yes.
After the data has been imported, edit the fields in the Employee File, if needed.
