From the Human Resources screen, select the Maintenance menu, Certificates, and then Endorsements.
At the Endorsements screen, click the New Record button.
Note: For any field equipped with the repeat function, click the Repeat button or press the Ctrl+R keys to repeat the previous entry for the specified field. The repeat function is only available after your initial entry.
Enter a unique ID for the endorsement type for which the endorsement will be included in the Endorsement Type ID field. The ID can be alphanumeric and up to 10 characters long (no spaces). If adding an endorsement for an existing endorsement type and the ID is not known, click the down-arrow button or the Find button to select the correct one.
Note: If adding a new endorsement type, to have the system automatically assign the ID using the first 10 characters (letters and numbers only) of the description, leave the ID field blank; once the record is saved, the ID will be assigned.
Select the Active field to stipulate the endorsement type contains endorsements that are currently used when entering certificates for employees. A checkmark will appear in the box if the field is selected. When adding a new endorsement type, the Active field is selected by default.
If adding a new endorsement type, enter the description for the endorsement type in the Endorsement Type Description field. The description can be up to 40 characters long. If adding a new endorsement for an existing endorsement type, the description for the specified endorsement type will appear in the Endorsement Type Description field.
To add an endorsement to the specified endorsement type, complete the following:
In the blank line (indicated with an asterisk) at the bottom of the Endorsements List, enter the ID for the new endorsement in the Endorsement ID field. The ID can be alphanumeric and up to 10 characters long (no spaces).
Note: To have the system automatically assign the ID using the first 10 characters (letters and numbers only) of the description, leave the ID field blank; once the record is saved, the ID will be assigned. The Endorsement ID must be unique and cannot be used more than once or with multiple endorsement types.
Enter the description for the new endorsement in the Endorsement Description field. The description can be up to 40 characters long.
If applicable, enter the ID of the grade level tied to the particular endorsement in the Grade Level ID field. If the ID is not known, click the down-arrow button to select the correct one, or press the Ctrl+F keys to access the search feature.
Select the Active field to stipulate the endorsement is currently used when entering certificates for employees. A checkmark will appear in the box if the field is selected. When adding a new endorsement, the Active field is selected by default.
If desired, enter any additional information to track for the endorsement in the Comments field. The comment can be up to 1,000 characters long.
If applicable, repeat these steps until all the endorsements have been added for the specified endorsement type.
Click the Save button.
