North Dakota Public Employees Retirement Report

Note:  Prior to generating the report, if you have any employees with a plan code as defined by the ND PERS Office that is different from the majority of the employees (for example, different than the MAIN plan code), define a referenced custom field for PERS Plan; then complete the custom field in the Employee File with the correct code for the PERS plan in which the employee is participating.

  1. From the Payroll screen, select the Government Reporting menu and then North Dakota Public Employees Retirement Report.

  2. At the North Dakota Public Employees Retirement Report screen, click the Report Options tab and complete the information.

  1. Click the Pay Groups tab to select the pay groups to include on the retirement report.

Note:  The pay groups defined (within the Pay Group File) to be included on the North Dakota Public Employees Retirement Report are selected by default, but can be changed if needed; if changes are made here, the changes will also be reflected in the Pay Group File.

  1. Click the Deductions tab to select which deductions are set up for the various retirement options.

Tip:  To lock a column in place so that it does not move while scrolling the information in the grid, click the pushpin located to the right of the desired column heading.  Once the pushpin has been selected for a column, the pushpin will appear vertical to indicate the column is locked, and the locked column will move to the left and appear in front of all unlocked columns.  To unlock a column, click the pushpin again; the pushpin will appear horizontal to indicate a column is unlocked.  If the screen is closed and re-opened, or the Save button is clicked (if applicable), the settings for the pushpins will go back to the defaults.

Tip:  The Employer Match (Pre Tax), Employee Optional (Pre Tax), and Employee Optional (Post Tax) columns are only completed if employees enrolled in the DC25 plan (if applicable) have elected to have an optional 1%, 2%, or 3% in additional contributions (with the employer matching the contributions), and then the appropriate columns are completed (for whether the additional contributions are set up as pre or post tax) for the applicable deduction.

  1. The retirement report can then be generated to paper or a file (or both).

Note:  If there is an employee with an invalid plan code, the file will not be created and a prompt will appear listing any employees with invalid codes; click OK, and then review the referenced values for the custom field defined for PERS Plan and update the Referenced Field IDs to be valid plan codes.  Then repeat the steps again to create the file.

  1. After the retirement report is printed and the file created, click the X in the upper right-hand corner to close the screen.
