Nebraska Staff Reporting

The Nebraska Staff Reporting option in Payroll is used by Nebraska school districts to create the Staff Demographics report and the Staff Position Assignments report submitted to the Department of Education every year for the Nebraska Student and Staff Records System.  The Nebraska Staff Reporting option generates the employee records for the Staff Demographics report, which includes the employee’s name (first name, last name, middle initial, and suffix, if applicable), a staff ID number, base salary, additional compensation, benefits, and other additional pieces of information, such as total experience, education attained, race/ethnicity, etc.  Once the Staff Demographics report is generated within the Nebraska Staff Reporting option, the employee information can be verified and edited, if needed, and then a file can be created for submission to the state.

With the Nebraska Staff Reporting option, the data can also be entered to record the details of the assignments for the applicable employees to include on the Staff Position Assignments report.  As changes are made throughout the year for assignments, the information within the Nebraska Staff Reporting option for the Staff Position Assignments report can be updated.  Then when needed, a file can be created to submit the information.

The Nebraska Staff Reporting option also can be used to create a file for those employees who do not yet have an assigned staff ID number.  The file would then be submitted to the state in order to obtain an ID number that can be imported into the Employee File.

Note:  Follow the steps on the Nebraska Staff Reporting Completion Checklist to ensure all steps are completed properly for the Nebraska Staff Reporting option.
