The View Scanner Assets option, accessed from within a batch in the Add New Assets option, is used after all the necessary steps have been done for the Process Scanner Data option in order to add assets to the Fixed Asset Inventory module that were found (scanned) during an inventory but not yet entered into the system. The View Scanner Assets option is also used to add (undispose) assets that were scanned but marked as disposed in the system with entries previously posted to General Ledger. When the View Scanner Assets option is selected, a list of all the scanner assets with a Variance Type of New Asset or Disposed Asset (GL) appear on the Add New Assets screen; the desired asset is then selected by double-clicking on the line to add the asset to the batch.
Each scanner asset entry includes the Asset Tag number, the Site ID, the Building ID, and the Room ID. The valid information included in the entry will default into the appropriate fields when adding the asset, but can be changed if needed. Also, shown for each entry for display purposes only is the Variance Type, and whether the entry is a duplicate or includes an invalid location (Site ID, Building ID, and/or Room ID).
The applicable assets from the scanner file continue to display in the Scanner Assets List until the assets are added to the Fixed Asset Inventory module from within the Add New Assets option using the View Scanner Assets option, or a new scanner file is imported.
