Sub Classes are used in Fixed Asset Inventory in conjunction with classes to provide more descriptive categories for assets. Each asset is assigned to an appropriate sub class.
Defaults for the replacement cost change factor, useful life, account numbers for Inventories and Reserved for Inventories, and depreciation information are defined for each sub class. Once an asset is assigned to a sub class, the defaults from the sub class appear but can be changed if needed so that they are applicable to the asset. Also, if the defaults are changed for a sub class, the assets tied to the sub class can be updated to use the new defaults, if desired.
The following are the standard sub classes defined in the Fixed Asset Inventory module.
