Steps are used in the salary schedules in the Negotiations module to define the experience (longevity) of an employee. Each school district determines if steps are the rows or columns on the salary schedules for a package. One row or column would be equal to one step. If needed, the system will display half-steps on the salary schedules. Depending on the preference of the school district, a salary schedule can start with either Step 0 or Step 1. Each school district determines the number of steps included in the salary schedule.
