FTE refers to the Full Time Equivalent of each employee. The Full Time Equivalent is the comparable factor of the employee’s status relating to a full-time employee. The FTE of an employee normally ranges from 0 to 1, but can be greater than 1. An employee who works full-time has an FTE of 1. An employee who works 20 hours a week of a normal 40-hour work week (works only half-time) has an FTE of 0.5.
